Dolores is the only female entertainer to appear in Saudi Arabia, which she did during Operation Desert Storm. She was a popular guest in eighteen of her husband’s NBC television specials. Rosemary Clooney is credited for getting  Dolores to continue to work. She released albums during a semi-retirement lasting over five decades.

Dolores has received numerous accolades for her charitable causes including a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and a street in the Bronx named in her honor. From 1969 to 1976, she served as president of the Eisenhower Medical Center in Palm Desert.
