“`The Central Library of Los Angeles was an iconic repository built in 1926 to bring free literacy opportunities to the community. Seventy-two local branches now exist.

“`The Los Angeles Public Library’s marks its centennial this year. The year-long festivities for Central 100 include special exhibits, multiple programs and events,  and a family-friendly festival on July 11th. One of the festivities takes place at the Westwood branch this Saturday at 3p. And I am lucky enough to be the host of the event!

“`Come hear me share stories from Hollywood’s golden age and talk about how films shaped important moments in history. Forgotten Hollywood looks at 100 years of Hollywood, an hour retrospective as cinema went from silents to talkies, when new stars emerged,  and why the Academy Awards were created.

“`I will also be signing copies of my Forgotten Hollywood book series, including my new work, Forgotten Hollywood: Beware of the Blog. The Westwood Branch Library is located at 1246 Glendon Avenue in West Los Angeles. The event begins on Saturday (6/27) at 3p

“`I am thrilled to be traveling to the 24th annual Sons of the Desert International Convention, this year held in San Diego, beginning on Sunday, June 21st. This year, the festival is honoring Laurel and Hardy’s centennial anniversary of their work as a team at Hal Roach Studios.

“`I will be part of an Author’s Panel, joining vaunted scribes on the subject of the established careers of Stan and Ollie. You will also be able to find me in the Dealer’s Room with my entire Forgotten Hollywood series. Including my new Forgotten Hollywood: Beware of the Blog! Here is my schedule:
