“`Richard Herd was a durable character actor who was comfortable in movies and television. He appeared in All the President’s Men, The China Syndrome and Private Benjamin. On television, Herd guest-starred in The Streets of San Francisco, M*A*S*H, The Rockford Files, Eight is Enough, Starsky and Hutch, Kojak, Dallas, The A-Team, Hill Street Blues, Murder She Wrote, The Golden Girls, Matlock, Dynasty, Quantum Leap, Knotts Landing, and a number of episodes of Seinfeld. He was a series regular on T. J. Hooker.
