Veteran actress Maureen O’Hara was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery on Monday after passing away last month. She was buried next to her third and last husband, Air Force Brigadier General Charles Blair, who was killed in a plane crash in 1978 – just 10 years after the couple was married.

The Irish Times reports her grandson Conor Fitzsimons spoke at the service, delivering a tearful tribute to his grandmother. Also at the service was Melinda Munoz, the daughter of O’Hara’s former costar John Wayne. Members of the US Air Force honor guard served as pallbearers for O’Hara’s coffin.

The Irish screen legend starred in over 50 feature films spanning five decades, including big screen classics such as The Hunchback of Notre Dame, How Green was My Valley, The Quiet Man, Miracle on 34th Street, and The Parent Trap. O’Hara graced the stage at the 2014 Academy Awards to finally receive an honorary Oscar. The native Dubliner celebrated her 95th birthday in August.
